For adults interested in joining the Catholic Church - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Inquiry sessions of approximately 6 weeks are offered throughout the year as an opportunity to answer basic questions and to learn more about the process of becoming Catholic.. For those who wish to continue their study, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) meets on Wednesday evenings beginning in August and continuing through May. Please contact the parish office for more information.
Catholics who have been away from the Church for some time are encouraged to attend our Catholics Coming Home series, offered at various times throughout the year. Please contact the parish office for more information.
Our Parish School
St. John Nepomuk Catholic School is open to children of all faiths, in grades Pre-Kindergarten (3) through 8. We pride ourselves on a program that grows the whole child.
Childhood Ministries (PreK through 5th grade)
Religious Education
Classes for pre-kindergarten to fifth grade students not attending Catholic school are held on Sunday mornings at 9:15 AM. We also offer a weeklong Vacation Bible School in the summer.
Sacramental Preparation: Baptism, First Penance & First Communion
Parents of infants and small children (under the age of 7) wanting the sacrament of Baptism must attend a baptism seminar held on the first Tuesday of every month. Contact the parish office if you plan to attend. Preparations for the sacrament of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are available for children entering the second grade. Parents are required to attend all sacramental preparation parent meetings.
Youth Ministries (Grades 6-12)
Total Youth Ministry Experience (TYME)
We work to accomplish our goals by creating a multi-dimensional, comprehensive youth ministry program. Our high school program, TYME, meets on Sunday evenings, and our junior high program, HALF TYME, meets on Wednesday evenings. Our program reaches our young people at church, in their environments outside the parish, through their families, and by direct ministry in their personal lives. TYME and HALF TYME are open to all young people of the parish and their friends.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Our confirmation preparation process for high school students may begin as early as their freshman year, and no later than their junior year. The program, in accordance with Archdiocesan requirements, is a two year process. Candidates for confirmation will learn about the Church, develop faith formation skills, and participate in retreats and service opportunities - and they'll have fun in the process. Involvement in TYME or attendance at a Catholic high school is a requirement for all confirmation candidates.
Adult Education Programs
Sunday Morning Adult Ed - Meets from 9:15-10:15 on Sunday mornings in Marian Hall or the Conference Room. Contact the parish office for more information.
Friday Morning Bible Study - Meets in the Conference Room on Friday morning during the school year, after the 8:30am Mass. Contact the parish office for more information.
Men's Group - This group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the Parish Activity Center from 7-8:30pm. They spend time discussing the topical issues of the day, impacts to our Catholic faith and the effects on our call to be Godly men. Most of the evening is focused on Church teachings and scriptural study offered through a wide variety of instructional media to enhance our faith journey and strengthen our relationships, especially with our spouse and children, for those who are married and have children. Prayer is a central theme. We conclude each meeting with the Liturgy of the Hours - Evening Prayer. Contact Deacon Dan Lombardi for more information.
